Not only is LiquidBook a great development company, but they are also our long-term collaborators on large, custom website design and build projects. It's only fair then that we returned the favor by giving their existing brand a nice, sophisticated design update. The new book mark (sorry, we can’t resist a good pun) is sprightly, clean and perfectly simple. Just like the code that LiquidBook creates. See what we did there?...

We designed these lovely two-sided business cards for Parkside Orthodontics. The cards function as a calling card with contact information, a list of services offered and a message for their referral program--all while looking clean, friendly and not overcrowded....

We’ve been too busy to post any new stuff to the blog lately, but we wanted to share these nice new business card designs for studio-98, a contemporary candid wedding (and event) photography studio in the Northwest. Not coincidentally, we’re also working on their new website that we hope to share with you soon....

We just designed these groovy (and loud) business cards for Smells Like Pop, an on-line music magazine with “music news, opinion, blather and snark.” The writers of SLP (of which I myself am one!) are for the most part all “Pops” (or at least old enough to smell like a pop) and hail from up and down the West Coast. You can read some reviews, editorials and features at smellslikepop.com...

Deco Distilling is moving into their new production facility, complete with a Tasting Room that will be open on weekends, so they needed new business cards. We helped them out with a nice refresh that’s equal parts vintage Deco and rock-and-roll. While the spirits are hand-crafted, these cards are all about sales, so we put an ad on the back for their delicious new Coffee Rum. And, yes that is a Silver Medal from the 2011 World Spirits Competition. Thanks for noticing....

Logo and business cards for new internet television site, Open Affairs that will examine transparency in all aspects of technology, government and healthcare. The red "person" is a combination of the O and the A of the name and also symbolizes a transmission tower broadcasting to the world and (if you squint really hard), a keyhole for unlocking previously hidden information....

We just revised the branding for Peter Champ, a Portland area realtor and long-time supporter of DBD+A. The updated brand is punchier (Pete was once an amateur boxer), greener (he's Earth Advantage S.T.A.R. certified and a Trade Partner with the Energy Trust of Oregon), and just plain cooler (Pete's very cool for a Brit). Now we just have to update his website to match! See the previous version of his logo here....

Hot off the presses: new logos and business cards for local pet accessory company, muffinhead. This new Portland start-up is making coats for dogs from recycled people clothing, creating one-of-kind jackets that are as stylish as they are sustainable. The logo-type is a fun combination of silliness and seriousness, nicely reflecting the sensibilities of this new company. Stay tuned, as their website will be debuting soon! ...

Here's the front and back of some new business cards we designed for McKee Garden Design that are a nice mix of serious professionalism and playful humor. ...
